‘Sound Creators’ – Music Workshops for Young Carers and Young Mothers
‘Sound Creators’ music workshops for up to 15 Young Female Carers (up to age 24) to express with music. This includes Young Mothers

Creative fun sessions run across 12 weeks from January to April 2020
Available to residents of YMCA, Erdington and surrounding accessible areas. This is thanks to funding in partnership with UK Youth and Clarion Futures.
Workshops are run by Project lead Chris from The Play it Forward Project, supported by Clarion Futures.
Workshops peer led by Professional Musician & Community Workers Tehillah and Faye.
Each workshop is 2 hours long focused on song writing and learning new skills around music, with the opportunity to discuss range of social topics.
Musicians and instruments welcome, but you do not need to have any experience, it is the taking part that counts!
Instruments provided, but optional. A Guitalele (miniature, portable, quality learning guitar) will be available to take home and practice with for duration of project.
Freedom of choice is at the heart of our delivery; therefore, participation is on your terms.
Exploring song writing and creative expression in relation to wellbeing and as a coping tool.
Music guide provided by ‘My Pockets’ and is used as part of workshop delivery for understanding the basics of music from rhythm to melody.
Our workshops are not a talent show, our projects are about the creative process which every person possesses the power to try.
