While no two carer experiences are the same, there are certain issues that do affect most carers. Caring safely is key to staying well and to making sure that your experience and the experience of the person you care for is the best possible.
Our two free carer training courses – First Aid for Carers, and Moving and Handling the Person You Care For – will help you to care safely and give you the skills and confidence to manage a range of situations.
Training courses last for half a day and are available in Birmingham and across the West Midlands in Walsall, Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton.
In the First Aid for Carers course you will learn how to deal with everything from everyday first aid accidents such as scrapes and bumps to emergency situations including what to do when someone falls unconscious, or how to apply CPR.
Moving and Handling the Person You Care For focusses on ways to ensure you don’t injure yourself or your loved one. Moving someone incorrectly can lead to accidental bruising or back, neck and shoulder injuries. Learn how to avoid these and to help someone move safely.
We believe that prevention is always better than cure. These key skills are so important that we are committed to offering these training courses for free to help you and your loved ones stay safe and well.
