I really enjoy being an Ambassador at Forward Carers and providing support in any way possible. I think it is very important to help other Carers by taking the time to listen to them, treat them with empathy and respect, and inform them about available services and support in order to assist them on their caring journey. I am also a Carer Peer Mentor at the Birmingham Buddhist Centre and I am a trained Mental Health First Aider. Currently, I care for my mother and I used to care for my father before he passed away. Being a Carer has enlightened me as to the complex responsibilities inherent to the role and I believe it is crucial that we celebrate Carers and the work that they do.
