Disability Hate Crime: a guide for Carers and supporters

The National Police Chiefs’ Council has produced a guide for people who provide support to a person who has been or is at risk of being a victim of disability hate crime.

This guidance aims to help people to:

  • spot disability hate crime;
  • support the person at risk to tell people what happened;
  • take the right action to keep the person safe; and
  • constructively challenge agencies – including the police, social services and other services – to take action.
